Just a quick reminder about our second-hand sale at the Camberley Finnish School on Saturday, October 12th!

We’re looking for donations of clothes, toys, books, and anything else you might have lying around.

Bring your donations to the school hall between 10am-12pm on the day.

All proceeds go to support our school’s programs.

Pikainen muistutus, etta Camberleyn Suomi-koulun kirpputori pidetaan Lokakuun 12 pva.
Etsimme sopivina lahjoituksina vaatteita, leluja, kirjoja ynna muuta mille ei enaa ole kayttoa kotona.

Lahjoitukset voi tuoda koululle klo 10 ja 12 valilla.

Kaikki tuotto menee koulumme toiminnan rahoittamiseen.

Lauantaina 9.12. järjestämme Suomi-koulun perinteisen suomalaisen joululounaan ja joulujuhlan, tänä vuonna Crondall Village Hall:issa, GU10 5QG.
 
Klo 12 toivotamme tervetulleiksi kaikki joululounaan lipun ostaneet ja nautimme yhdessä suomalaisen joululounaan. Aloitamme päivän perinteisesti glögillä ja jatkamme joululaatikoihin, rosolliin ja kinkkuun. Tänä vuonna lisäämme maksalaatikon ja kotikaljan tarjoilupöytään!
 
Jouluarpajaiset järjestetään päivän aikana. Ostathan arpalipun tai pari ja tuet Suomi-kouluamme?
Luvassa upeita palkintoja!
 
Alle 3-vuotiaat pääsevät mukaan ilmaiseksi (ilmoitathan heidän lukumäärän kuitenkin lippuja ostaessasi, jotta osaamme varata heille tuolin), 3-15 -vuotiaat £7.50, ja 16 vuodesta ylöspäin £15 per henkilö. Myynnissä on 50 lasten lippua ja 70 aikuisten lippua.
 
Maksaa voi kortilla, käteisellä tai suoraan koulun tilille. Lippuja saa Simonilta osoitteesta treasurer@suomikoulu.org.
 
Kauneimpia joululauluja lauletaan klo 14, joita tulee vetämään Lontoon merimieskirkon edustaja. Kauneimpiin joululauluihin ovat kaikki tervetulleita, eli lippua ei tarvita. Laulujen jälkeen nautimme suomalaisia joulujälkiruokia kahvin ja teen kera! Tulethan mukaan? Mukaan voit tuoda kaverisi myös.

On Saturday 9 December we will be organising our traditional Finnish Christmas lunch and party, this year at the Crondall Village Hall, GU10 5QG.
 
At 12noon we will welcome everyone with a ticket to our traditional Christmas lunch. We will start with Finnish glögi, followed by traditional Finnish Christmas menu. There will be a few new additions to last year’s menu!
 
Christmas raffle will take place during the day. Please purchase a few tickets and support our Finnish School. The prizes will be brilliant!
 
The Christmas lunch for adults is £15 (16 and over) and for children £7.50 (3- to 15-year-olds). Under 3’s go free (please still mention them when purchasing your tickets so we can reserve a seat for them). There are 50 children’s tickets and 70 adult’s tickets available.
 
You can pay by card, cash or directly to school’s account. Please contact Simon for the tickets at treasurer@suomikoulu.org
 
Christmas Carols will be sung at 2pm. We will have guests from the Finnish Church in London. Everyone in our community is welcome to join us for the Christmas Carols. The Carols will be followed by teas and coffees and Finnish Christmas desserts. Please join us!

Lauantaina 29.4. juhlimme vappua! Koulutunnit (klo 10.30-12.30) ja muskari (klo 11.00-11.30) pidetään normaalisti ja vappujuhlat alkavat koulun tiloissa klo 12.30. Vappujuhliin on kaikilla vapaa pääsy! Luvassa munkkeja ja simaa, nakkeja, lihapullia, perunasalaattia, herkkuja, tietysti Suomi-musaa ja ilmapalloja!

Vapun kunniaksi lapset voivat pukeutua vappu-asuun. Paras asu palkitaan karkkiämpärillä!

Vappukahvilan tuotto käytetään koulun hyväksi.

Lukukauden viimeiset koulupäivät ovat 22.4, 29.4, 13.5, 20.5. ja 10.6.

Suomi-koulun kesäjuhla järjestetään lauantaina 24.6. Lisätietoja tulossa pian! Laitathan päivän jo kalenteriin.

We will be celebrating vappu on Saturday 29 April. We will have normal lessons (from 10.30 to 12.30) and muskari (from 11.00-11.30). The vappu party will start at 12.30 at the school premises. Everyone is welcome. We will have munkki and sima, sausages, meat balls, potato salad, Finnish music and balloons of course!

We will also be running a vappu fancy dress competition. We look forward to seeing the kids dress up. The winner will receive a bucket full of sweets!

All proceeds from vappu cafe will go back to our school.

The last school days of the term are 22 April, 29 April, 13 May, 20 May and 10 June.

Finnish School summer party will be held on 24 June. More details to follow soon!

We have great news, Matti our new shopkeeper has restocked the shop with supplies from Finland!

Term fees

The school finances are becoming increasingly stressed in terms of cash flow (when we incur cost vs. when we receive income) and how far they can accommodate unintentional non-payment. To address this, from September, we will implement a new process that will see invoices being sent to members after the third week of term whereby they then have one month to make payment.

This allows two taster weeks for those new to the school, then from the third week, if a student attends a class, invoices will be sent to collect payment for the term — exceptions will be made for those who are new and wish to trial the lessons mid-term.

Where possible we will prefer payment by bank transfer (details available on our join us page), but will continue to accept payment by card and cash via the treasurer, thus allowing payments to be reconciled.

This move to invoicing only relates to term fees, payment for cafe and shop goods will continue as before (by cash or card).
